Services For Musos

As Michael Jackson once sang, “You Are Not Alone”. And even though the lyrics to that song have a different meaning, the struggle in the music biz is real. Let alone if you’re new to this “who’s who in the zoo” ruthless music industry game.

You’ve come to the right place, though.

Because I’m a copy- and content writer by day and blogger by night. And I’m here to take part of that beginner’s weight off your shoulders. So you can focus on making your best, Grammy-worthy music that makes fans sell out your shows in 5 minutes (fingers crossed!).

Here’s what I can do for you, whether you’re a muso from Australia or anywhere else in the world:

Releasing music for the first time? Congrats! Don’t forget to tell the whole world (and especially the music press) about it.

Releasing music for the 100th time, but you’ve already put all your energy into songwriting? I can totally relate.

Every EPK (electronic press kit) defo needs these two things:

  • An eye-catching bio that is more than “I’m the next big thing on the Sydney rap scene” but less than a Wikipedia entry about Nick Cave’s awards AND
  • A press release that won’t make the journos automatically skip to the last sentence without finding out what the name of your new single actually is.

Let me create the first bio and press release for you.

And then, I’ll teach you a “loose notes” formula so you can do the next ones yourself.

Here are two possible scenarios:

  • You’ve been told that, as a newbie, setting up a website can seriously boost your professional muso status OR
  •  You’re an established artist already. But you feel this is the right time to start having more meaningful conversations with your fans on socials.

Either way, rumour has it that having a professional write the copy (content) for those channels can make your life easy AF. So you’re thinking of outsourcing it.

You’re in luck again because that’s also what I do.

I work as a ghostwriter with brands from different sectors (also outside the music world) to tell real-life stories about things they do, in their readers’ lingo. That way, the audience can relate to them better.

Check out how I broke down blockchain using an example of a popular American show, “Mythbusters”, for an IT company.

(And how is it relevant to you? Because the same storytelling technique works for music.)

No, it’s not therapy. I’m not a certified career coach, either (yet!).

But I talk to musos often enough to know what you might be struggling with. And it’s always good to bounce your ideas off someone who gets you and your vibe professionally. Right?

So, if you wanna pick my brain about anything music-biz-related, hit me up!

Have a different music project in mind? And you’re convinced I’m the missing piece of the puzzle to make it happen?

Keeeeeeen to hear all about it!
