This is not going to be a usual post. This is me using 20 songs as an excuse to talk about all the things I’m looking forward to in the Aussie music in 2020 and artists that are important to me in some way. It’s actually not only about music but also some other topics that might help you understand the context of my very subjective selection.

And to make the things even more out of the ordinary, for once, I’ve decided to record a video message instead of typing like crazy. A “new year, new me” sort of thing. But fear not: I won’t bore you to death in one go. I’ve split the rant into two parts for your convenience.
Accompanying the video premiere is a Spotify playlist with the songs listed in the same order that I talk about the bands performing them in the vid. So you can keep up and maybe even play them in the background as I speak. Below I’ve also included references to further reading if you’re keen on exploring a bit more.
The artists I’m talking about this week are: Peking Duk, Ziggy Alberts, Tones And I, Dune Rats, ONEFOUR, Gang of Youths, Cry Club, EGOISM, Tasman Keith and Tame Impala. So a pretty wild mix of different genres.
